Thoughts
The first half of the year has gone quickly,
but we have accomplished a tremendous amount.
Dear Milford Community,

I just want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a joyous, restful, and fun-filled Holiday break. As you can see throughout this Connections Newsletter, so many wonderful things are happening across our district. We have incredibly talented students, dedicated and passionate staff that make Milford a special place to live, learn, and work. The first half of the year has gone quickly, but we have accomplished a tremendous amount. This is a true testament to the dedication and hard work of our staff.

As we move into 2020, a new decade, we have a great opportunity in front of us to realize a new and bold vision for the future Education of our students. Our vision, that “The Milford School District will be an inspiring community where deep learning and strong relationships empower ALL students to be designers of their own story,” will require all of our collective energies and effort.

There is nothing we cannot accomplish together, and we are well positioned with a strong plan to realize this goal. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive community as we embark on a process that will require change, and I thank each and every one of you for that support.

When I was a History teacher, I loved both early and modern American History. The 60’s and 70’s were filled with great change. As we look back it was challenging, but moved our country forward in so many areas. President Kennedy’s wise words on change will always resonate with me. He said, “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present, are certain to miss the future.” We have much to be proud of here in Milford, and a future that awaits our taking. I look forward to fulfilling all the exciting things we have ahead, with all of you.

Happy New Year!
