2022 - May

Dear Milford Students, Families and Staff,

We find ourselves once again, as a community and nation, shocked and heartbroken by the devastating news of a school tragedy. The Milford School District community shares the pain and grief that parents and educators across the country are experiencing, and we are keeping the families of Robb Elementary School, their friends and neighbors in Uvalde, Texas, in our thoughts.

There is no greater priority of the Milford School District than the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Together with the Milford Police Department (MPD) and other community partners, we are highly committed to our practices and protocols for daily security and emergency preparedness, as well as student and family supports and services.  We are most grateful to our MPD partners for their close monitoring and presence at our schools today and at our end-of-year events.

Regular drills and trainings, visitor school check-in procedures, securing of all doors, "SEE something, SAY something", and indoor and outdoor camera surveillance are among the critical ways we keep our schools safe learning environments.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's school administration, or school counseling department for support if needed; we work in partnership with you. Also, we offer some family resources below that you may find helpful in processing this event with your children.

Most Sincerely,
Ms. Christi Michaud
Superintendent

Dear Milford Families and Community Members,

Please TUNE IN on Monday night at 7:00p.m. for the School Board meeting as our Facilities Committee discusses the next steps in our Facilities Master Plan.  Almost two years ago, Lavallee Brensinger Architects conducted a feasibility study for the District and a facilities master plan. Following the vote in March, the Facilities committee reassessed and is ready to share WHERE WE ARE NOW!!  The Milford School District is eligible for 17 million dollars in CTE state funding in 2024-25.  Come see Lavallee Brensigner's conceptual designs, and learn what we need to do to be prepared to apply for the state funds. A community wide effort is crucial!  Thanks for your involvement.

Kindly,
Ms. Christi Michaud
Superintendent
