RIGHTS OF HANDICAPPED PERSONS POLICY STATEMENT
 
It is the policy of the Milford School District that no otherwise qualified individual with handicaps shall, solely by reason of his/her handicap, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity sponsored by this school district.

For purposes of this policy and any implementing regulations, an individual with handicaps is a person who:
  1. has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more of such
    person's major life activities, including learning;
  2. has a record of such impairment; or
  3. is regarded as having such an impairment.

NOTICE

Notice of the school district's policy on nondiscrimination in education and employment
practices shall be given in the School District Policy Manual, posted throughout the district, and published in district statements regarding the availability of special education or employment positions.
