Dear Milford Families, Faculty and Staff, and Community Members,
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what this important day means for all of us in the Milford community.
Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving our country. It’s a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made to protect our freedoms and the values we hold dear. In our schools, students have spent time this week learning about the meaning of Memorial Day, the history of military service, and the importance of courage, service, and selflessness.
To all the veterans and military families in our community…THANK YOU. Your service and sacrifice mean so much, and your stories help our students understand the deeper meaning behind this holiday.
As we enjoy the long weekend, let’s all take a moment to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our schools and students.
Sincerely,
Superintendent Michaud

Dear Milford Community,
Many thanks to those who attended the Milford School District Art Show last evening at Milford High School. We are fortunate to have incredible artistic talent within our schools, and it was wonderful to celebrate that talent.
Additionally, it has come to our attention that some of the artwork selected for presentation at the Art Show has sparked strong emotions within parts of our community. We appreciate the communication we have received and acknowledge the reactions. We are reviewing our District Art Show selection criteria at this time.
As part of our commitment to encouraging creativity and free expression, the Milford School District Art Show serves as a platform for students to explore complex ideas and express their perspectives. The artwork in question was intended by the student to explore political expression, not to promote hate or violence.
We recognize that our community is diverse, and differing perspectives are a natural part of our school environment. As we move forward, we are committed to fostering a space where open, respectful conversations can occur, and where the value of artistic expression can be recognized in ways that encourage thoughtful discussion.
Respectfully,
Superintendent Michaud
