Dear Milford School Community,

I am thrilled to announce that this week is National Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! This is a time for us to honor and thank the hardworking and dedicated teachers and staff members who make our schools such wonderful places to learn and grow.

Each day, our teachers and staff members go above and beyond to ensure that our students continue to receive a quality education and feel supported. They show tremendous resilience, creativity, and commitment to our students' success. We are incredibly proud of our educators and staff, and we know you join us in expressing gratitude.

To our teachers and staff members, we appreciate everything you do, and we thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students' success. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed.

To our families and students, we encourage you to take a moment to express your appreciation to your teachers and staff members. A simple thank you can go a long way in showing our educators and staff members how much they are valued and appreciated.

Let's celebrate Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week by showing our gratitude to those who make a difference in our students' lives each and every day.

Kindly,

Dear Milford Community,

Today the Milford School District became aware that a former substitute teacher and seasonal band assistant, Emmanuel Mendez, was arrested by the Milford Police Department for endangering the welfare of a minor and simple assault. Mr. Mendez worked as a substitute from October 21, 2021, to February 9, 2023, and as a band assistant/drill instructor beginning in 2014. The District will continue to cooperate with the Milford Police Department as necessary throughout the process.

The District cannot discuss particulars due to the ongoing police matter. However, I want to assure all families that the safety of our staff and students remains the District’s highest priority. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Ms. Christi Michaud
Superintendent
