Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) Department strives to support the district's goals of enhancing the educational experience for all students and to support the staff in their effort to do so through the use of technology.
The Milford School District (SAU 40) operates a one-to-one Chromebook initiative for high school and middle school students. Students and their families are responsible for any damages, regardless of whether the damage was accidental or not. The District offers accidental Chromebook insurance to cover the repair costs for accidental damage, loss, theft, and other perils. Students who do not have insurance, or if the damage was not accidental, will be charged the full cost of repair or replacement. A list of repair costs can be found here. We highly recommend families purchase Chromebook insurance. Chromebook insurance must be purchased each school year and it is the responsibility of the family to manage the renewal each year.
Families can purchase insurance for the 2025-2026 school year directly with Securranty using the link below. You can pay by credit card, PayPal, or online check. You will need your student’s first and last name, as well as the school inventory number of the Chromebook. This number can be found on the bottom of the Chromebook by locating the “Property of Milford School District” sticker. The number typically starts with a “B” or an “M”. Do not purchase insurance for any “loaner” Chromebooks. Incoming 6th and 9th graders will be issued new Chromebooks within the first couple days of school. Insurance may be purchased after the Chromebooks have been issued to those students.
